The Firm’s managing and founding partner is Jose P. Font, Esq., and over the course of his seventeen-year career he has been recognized four separate times by Super Lawyers (only 2.5% of the top-rated lawyers receive the yearly recognition), which is an independent and well recognized organization in the legal community that distinguishes the quality of lawyers by way of peer reviews and their independent research of a lawyer’s practice. Mr. Font was also awarded “The Attorney of Year“ in 2015 by FIFEC, which has been in existence for more than a quarter century and has over 1,000 attendees at its yearly seminar.

Although born in Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Font grew up in South Florida and graduated from Dade Christian. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University, was given a scholarship by St. Thomas University, where he participated in the accelerated program and graduated Valedictorian in 2003.

For over a decade, Mr. Font focused his practice on consulting and representing some of the largest corporations and insurers in the Country. However, currently, he has guided the Firm’s practice to representing individuals and entities who are in need of legal representation as it relates to their pending insurance claims or various other types of legal disputes.

Mr. Font has served as lead trial and/or appellate counsel on over 3,500 insurance claim disputes, and has also developed expertise in wrongful death cases, personal injury cases, PIP cases, contract disputes, and commercial transaction disputes. In addition to serving individual insureds’ interests, he also protects the widespread interests of insureds throughout the State by way of class action and “bad faith” suits that focus on deterring the systemic misconduct of insurance companies.

Prior to serving as the founding and managing partner of Font & Nelson, for over decade Mr. Font worked at Vernis & Bowling, which is one of the largest, most reputable and established Firms in the State of Florida. Mr. Font held the role as a managing attorney of one of the largest divisions of the Firm, and for nearly a decade has worked alongside with Frantz Nelson, Esq., who is the co-founding partner of Font & Nelson.

Frantz is one of the founding partners of the Font & Nelson Law Group. He was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Upon completion of high school, he attended the University of the West Indies for undergraduate studies. There he obtained a bachelors in arts with a major in English literature and a minor in Caribbean and European history. He then moved to the United States to pursue his legal career. He attended Nova Southeastern University, where he received a Juris Doctorate in 2006. Upon completion of his legal studies, Frantz sat for and successfully completed the Florida Bar Examination, at which time he was approached to become a member of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners to assist in grading bar examination essay questions for potential bar members. This gracious offer was accepted, and Frantz worked with the Board of Bar Examiners in 2007. After working with the Florida Bar as a bar examiner, Frantz began work as an Ad-Junct Professor at Nova Southeastern University, in its’ critical skills program, where he assisted law school students in their preparation for the Florida Bar Examination.

In 2007 Frantz began his practice of law, focusing primarily in the areas of civil litigation and insurance defense, working with clients such as MGA Insurance Company, United Automobile Insurance Company and State Farm Insurance Company. His primary area of practice was the defense of personal injury protection claims. Since that time, he has amassed a wealth of experience handling uninsured motorist claims, bodily injury claims and homeowners’ insurance claims. While working as a defense attorney, Frantz dealt with all forms of insurance claims, and for several years specialized in complex litigation and SIU claims. His experience includes the handling of lawsuits from inception through trial, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediation, arbitrations, court hearings, and every other conceivable event.

Frantz prides himself on upholding the highest degree of ethics and professionalism in serving every client. His knowledge and experience in representing various insurance carriers for over a decade, combined with his determination and attention to detail, allows him to navigate the complexities of litigation, as he now represents insureds and ultimately strives to obtain the best possible outcome for his clients.

Mr. Thomas earned his Juris Doctor at St. Thomas University School of Law, where he concentrated in the areas of litigation and trial advocacy He has focused his advocacy to ensure Plaintiffs get full representation against insurance companies. He understands all clients deserve personal attention and strives to keep his clients well informed throughout every stage of the litigation process.

Before attending law school, Mr. Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science degree, from the University of South Florida, with a major in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida. He worked for several years ensuring all his clients from multinational companies to family-owned businesses abided by both Federal and State Requirements in the areas of environmental monitoring, contamination and remediation to name a few.

Simone’s practice areas include Insurance, Real-Estate, and Litigation. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Kingston Jamaica, she graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and thereafter moved to Atlanta, GA where she obtained her GA license to practice. Thereafter, she returned to Florida and once again sat for the State Bar Exam, earning her Florida license in 2011.
